The One Europe, One Market Roadmap featured prominently in President Ursula von der Leyen‘s State of the European Union speech in the European Parliament yesterday. But how much of it has already been implemented?
I tracked 89 EU initiatives across the roadmap’s five pillars for you:
• 12 laws adopted
• 17 in trilogue negotiations
• 11 with a Council position agreed, waiting for Parliament
• 27 proposals tabled, waiting on Parliament and Council
• 18 not yet proposed by the Commission
• 4 non-legislative initiatives
Just under half (45%) have moved past the proposal stage, with a Council or EP position agreed, trilogue negotiations started, or the law agreed. A fifth of the initiatives promised haven’t been tabled yet (although some are trade agreements, which move through a different process).
