Updates from my EU law tracker summarising what’s new across the EU’s legislative pipeline.
Highlights this week
🔹Holiday plans anyone? The Commission launched 22 new calls for evidence/public consultations this week. A few close at the end of December (for example, on the Implementing Regulation on AI Regulatory Sandboxes), but most – fortunately – run until February 2026.
🔹The Council is also keeping busy finalising its position on various files, no doubt being pushed hard by the concluding Danish Council Presidency. Member State representatives this week also discussed next steps on the sustainability simplification omnibus package – 2025/0045(COD)
🔹Part of the chemicals omnibus package, delaying application dates, has been adopted and is now available in the Official Journal – Regulation (EU) 2025/2439
🔹December also features many legal deadlines. I list 21 new requirements starting to apply, but there’s more – a comprehensive overview is coming over the next days.
